Stephanie earned her BA from the University of Rhode Island, received her integrative health coach professional training at Duke Integrative Medicine in Durham, NC and is Qualified to teach MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) through UMass Medical School's Center for Mindfulness. She is also a certified instructor of MB-BP (Mindfulness-Based Blood Pressure Reduction) through Brown's School of Public Health.
Recognized as a highly motivated and results driven professional coach with more than twelve years experience utilizing behavioral change theory, she has counseled a diverse group of clients from C-level executives to at-risk youth. See a list of some former clients.
Prior to opening IHS, she served as a full-time health coach for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island’s health management division: The Health & Wellness Institute. During that time, she delivered effective worksite wellness health coaching services to members according to International Coach Federation (ICF) methodology – self-determination theory, motivational interviewing and transtheoretical model – via telephonic coaching, web-based coaching tools, health screenings, lectures, seminars, and one-to-one consultations. She coached clients on topics including: nutrition, weight management, stress management, physical activity and tobacco cessation.
With a personal belief that stress management requires an integrated whole-person approach, Stephanie combines her health coaching and mind-body training to offer her clients a uniquely holistic experience.
She maintains a daily mindful meditation practice and is a strong believer in the therapeutic benefits of meditation. Having completed UMass Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness Teacher Development Intensive (TDI) and Teacher Training Practicum in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), she is qualified to offer the complete 8-week program. Stephanie follows a vegetarian whole foods diet and is a Usui Reiki practitioner. Wellness is her passion, not just her profession.
Her philosophy is, do a little better, feel a little better – meaning – she meets her clients where they are and works with them to create a stress management plan that makes sense for their life.
